A showdown of the No. 3 and No. 4 teams in the Union Leader Power Poll. Salem led 28-21 at halftime behind two long Salkovitz touchdown runs. BG answered with 21 unanswered second-half points to remain unbeaten. Bowen finished 17-of-21 for 204 yards and two touchdowns through the air, added a rushing TD, and connected with Rocco Roy eight times for 142 yards. The win moved BG to 4-0 and added significant points to their playoff seeding.
"(Bowen) might be the best pure pocket-passing quarterback we face. It's like playing an NFL team with some of the passing concepts they run." Steve Abraham, Salem Head Coach · Pregame
"Their quarterback's great — you can't sack him. And No. 4 (Rocco Roy) is an electric player. They can win this conference." Steve Abraham, Salem Head Coach · Postgame
A statement performance for a junior quarterback returning from a season-opening injury wave that decimated BG's roster. The 48-8 result was the kind of game where Bowen's full range was on display — pocket passing, decision-making, and the chemistry with new top target Rocco Roy already showing. Coach Nalen had said before the year his focus was Bowen's mental game; this was the answer.
Third game of the junior season. By this point, Bowen had completed 35-of-47 passes for 639 yards and nine touchdowns through three games. BG had outscored its three opponents 131-23 — the kind of run that put Bowen on the Yukica Player of the Year watch list and made opposing coaches start preparing the way they'd prepare for a college spread offense.
Named to the preseason watch list for the Joe Yukica Player of the Year Award — the New Hampshire chapter of the National Football Foundation's recognition of the state's top high school football player. The list, voted on by NHIAA head coaches and statewide media, established Bowen as one of the players to watch entering his junior year.
Down 14 with six minutes left at Nashua North's makeshift home field, Bowen led an improbable rally that ended with a 16-yard touchdown pass to Cole Reeves with 12 seconds on the clock. The 33-for-53, 462-yard, four-touchdown performance announced him as one of New Hampshire's elite signal-callers.
"It just so happened me and Cole connected on that play. It's a nice connection between me and Cole that we've been working on since the beginning of the season." Nate Bowen, post-game
One week after winning with his arm, Bowen won with his foot — a 37-yard field goal as time expired at Duane Stadium. He had never made one that long. Earlier in the half, he'd missed from 26. He stepped back up, and it was good. His teammates buried him at the 30.
"I was just thinking, I can't really mess up here, just give it my best. I knew. It just felt good off the foot." Nate Bowen, on the game-winner
"He's got a good leg. He's a competitor. That kick meant a lot to him." Anthony Nalen, Head Coach
A surgical performance: 8-for-8 passing for 236 yards and a touchdown, including an 81-yard catch-and-run strike to Cole Reeves. Add a 31-yard field goal and a 29-yard field goal as the half expired. The Cards rolled to 536 total yards.
Three touchdown passes in an inter-state win at Townsend, Massachusetts. The Cards converted three Patriot turnovers into 21 points behind Bowen's right arm and a 290-yard rushing attack from A.J. Holmes.
Named the Ninth State Sports Show Player of the Week following the Goffstown win. The recognition came after a complete performance that earned coverage on the NH High School Sports podcast and Union Leader.
